Synopsis
This initiative explores how final-year Work-Study Diploma in Security Operations (DPSCO) trainees use AI Chatbots as a scaffold during their In-Company Project, an important module requiring the application of learnt principles to solve real workplace problems.
Drawing on Vygotsky's ZPD (Zone of Proximal Development), the AI Chatbot is positioned as the More Knowledgeable Other, offering tailored and responsive support. Survey findings from 33 trainees show strong endorsement for integrating AI in learning, with text summarisation, brainstorming and learning support emerging as the most valued elements provided by AI.
