What is the programme about?

The Certificate in Teaching and Learning for Adjunct Lecturers (CTLAL) is a comprehensive 16-hour programme collaboratively created and led by all five polytechnics and the Joint Polytechnic Academy for Educators. This programme is specifically tailored to empower new Associate/Adjunct Lecturers with essential teaching and learning skills. Its goal is to enhance the pedagogical and andragogical abilities of new adjunct faculty, ensuring they thrive in the unique polytechnic teaching environment. This programme blends the convenience of online self-paced learning with hands-on experience through a microteaching segment, providing a robust platform for adjunct lecturers to refine their essential teaching and learning capabilities. 

How is the programme conducted?

CTLAL is conducted in blended mode. Participants are required to complete an online segment and a face-to-face/ online microteaching segment.

When is the programme conducted?

There are 2 runs per year. The duration of the programme is 16 hours.

Is my polytechnic participating in this programme?

All polytechnics are scheduled to be onboard this programme from March 2025 onwards. Please refer to the following table for onboarding schedule.

New Associate/Adjunct Lecturers (ALs) may be expected to attend other poly-specific staff development trainings beyond CTLAL.
