Webinar: Developing a Global Mindset in TP Students (MOE TRF)
Through this study, Temasek Polytechnic examined the impact of a semester-long Global Studies (GS) module, offered to all full-time students, to foster global awareness and cross-cultural competence. The module provides two experiential learning options: Global Studies Overseas Study Trip (GSOST) and Glocal Experiences (GLX). Using a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design with over 2,000 participants, the study assessed changes in students’ Global Mindset, focusing on its three dimensions (intellectual, social, and psychological capitals) as well as related Skills and Attributes. The research found that the GS module effectively enhances students’ global competence, particularly cognitive and social dimensions, supporting curriculum design and institutional strategies for experiential learning.
